SD: Service Differentiation using IP Level Redirection (alpha)

http://cs1.cs.nyu.edu/~taozhao/sd/ SD is a package for enforcing resource sharing agreements and network service differentiation between ASPs and customers using a distributed network of redirector nodes. SD supports multiple server nodes, each of which host multiple network-accessible services. Client requests for these services (directed to virtual IP addresses hosted on a physical server node) can be routed through multiple redirector nodes, which enforce the desired agreements by coordinating with each other. SD is designed to handle server and redirector failure.

This version of the SD software only supports ASP-Customer agreements expressed in the form of lower bound and upper bound for rates of service. As part of the configuration parameters, the system can be set up to optimize different optimization metrics such as ASP revenue, system-wide client response times, etc.
